FAQs

  • A set of calculations are performed over a time period e.g. 30 minutes.

Each energy user within a community is assigned a share weighting, e.g. equal share.

For each time period, the quantity of solar generated electricity that was self-used within the site (as opposed to exported solar, or energy imported from the grid) is calculated.

The portion of energy used from on-site generation can have a different tariff to energy imported from the grid. Depending on the community, this could be zero-rated, discounted or equally priced to grid electricity.
